HK Electronic Fair - Cool Gadgets

It's a cool morning as I write this post from Hong Kong. My flight in with Singapore Airlines was without a hitch and service provided was fantastic. Out of all the airlines I've flown with, Singapore definitely serve the best food! So far my only gripe on my journey was the service provided by the orange-clad shuttlebus co-ordinators at HK airport - don't expect to get a warm welcome or comprehensive bus details from these guys. Someone please give these people some basic customer service training!

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair was jammed packed with people and some interesting gadgets. Most of it I had seen before, but there were a couple that stood out. One of these was the Solar Powered Mobile Phone Charger - now here's a handy gadget for that outdoorsie type person who likes to stay in touch with the world! I like how it compactly folds up to store in your pocket or bag.

To be quite honest, I had more fun at Wan Chai's Computer Centre on the ever bustling Hennessy Road. The beauty about this place, unlike at the fair, is that you could actually buy the snazzy gadgets some of which haven't even been released in Australia. But the best thing...they're all dirt cheap! For example, for those Digital SLR enthusiasts our there, you can pick up a black Canon 350D body only for around AU$1200 - it's around $1600-$1700 down under.

Here's a picture of my dinner last night. Where else can you get a Peking Duck Pizza with tender BBQ Peking Duck on hoisin sauce with shitake mushrooms, onions all covered with mozarella cheese! Delicious indeed!

Today will probably compose another trip to the fair, but most certainly a stroll down to Causeway Bay and then to the Kowloon Markets for a bit of a look. I miss my wife's navigation and itinerary co-coordination skills! Despite this, I've found Hong Kong to be an easy enough city to get around in. Here I go...
