Bluetooth 2.0 is here! : Late news but interesting...

I only found out recently that in November last year, the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) announced Bluetooth Core Specification Version 2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate). This is good news for us bluetoothers as it means faster data transfer, better battery life and easier multilinking of bluetooth devices!

Features of Bluetooth Core Specification Version 2.0 + EDR are:
- 3 times faster transmission speed (up to 10 times in certain cases)
- Lower power consumption through reduced duty cycle
- Simplification of multi-link scenarios due to more available bandwidth
- Backwards compatible to earlier versions
- Further improved BER (Bit Error Rate) performance

Although we don't have any Bluetooth 2.0 devices yet, we do have a good representation of Bluetooth 1.0/1.2 gadgets!
